Are social media wasting their time with media profiles?

Looking at the business world today, social media has taken the world by storm. Almost every company has a media profile on various social media platforms. According to Bill who wrote the blog stop wasting your time on social media says “Social media marketing is the next greatest thing”. The big question really is, are media profiles really as beneficial to a company?

“Stop wasting your time on social media and worry more about your business” (Bill, 2013). This basically means that people and businesses need to worry less about the shape of tools they use to move the businesses forward. As many companies make the mistake of posting too much information on social media initially.

Building a social media profile could be beneficial to a company as some of the best strategies come from starting slow and getting creative. For a risk free approach, you can use the social media sites and see what, if anything, your competitors are doing. Media profiles could help many companies generate meaningful articles, video’s and infographics. The goal at the end of the day is to create clients on social media network.
So, how do you decide whether to jump into the social media mix or not? Fortunately, it’s not an all or nothing decision. You have to decide on a business perspective whether it has a purpose. In order for companies to be successful it will have to be consistent to create an effective social media profile

Which is better Hootsuite or Tweetdeack? Let see which one is best!

Hootsuite or Tweetdeck. This would be the question many would ask, what makes these two social networks so signifcantly different from one another?

To start with Hootsuite and Tweetdeck represent two of the most famous multiplatform client dashboards which let us to manage not only from our desktop but from our mobile phone as well. These two social networks are similar with regards to making it possible for users to send, update and receive notifications, share files on real time, schedule posts for future publications and other functions.

So what exactly makes these two social networks so unique fro one another? Let’s tap into Hootsuite.

Hootsuite is not a desktop application; it is an online one so it is not the same to use it for Firefox or for Chrome. This is simply because it doesn’t share the same browser extension.

Tweetdeck needs to be installed with Adobe Air Package this represent and independent program on the browser and the user is obligated to download a file to execute it. This does mean that because Hootsuite is a web application, which allow the user to execute from a tab on the internet browser, sign up on the official page and login every time they want to use it. This can be done by the user using their account on Google or yahoo for example.

How is this social network supported?

Tweetdeck and Hootsuite's network support is more or less the same. The different networks Hootsuite offers are Pingfm, WordPress and Mixi, whereas Tweetdeck includes Buzz.

The differences in this case are more because of the Hootsuite version used by the user. The free version allows only manage up to 5 accounts while Tweetdeck is free with no limits.

The Messaging Process

On the Hootsuite Network you need to specify on every message to which account or several accounts you want to send the post. This however, does obligate you to make more clicks than the necessary ones and reduces productivity simply because it is slow. On Hootsuite the user must select the account from where you they would want to publish.

Tweetdeck only shows the text as you can read on Twitter, with the link but without the preview of the image as a miniature. Tweetdeck keeps you the users account active once it has been selected at all times.

Hootsuite and Tweetdeck has many similarities, however they are very unique in many ways. There are many advantages of both Social Networks; it is really up to the user to identify which network they feel most comfortable with.

We are only four in number but we will stand like a thousand

Often times, life would be great if it weren’t for other people! Yet, it’s through relationships with others that you often obtain the greatest rewards. Your office/workplace is where you spend many hours of your life, so getting along and working productively with your colleagues is very important. Unfortunately, many employees experience stress because team members argue, give each other the silent treatment or allow one person to do all the work.

Teamwork is not something that can be taught without consequences. We’d like to think we are all about Teamwork until things go wrong; then it’s every man/woman for themselves. This is the same thing that people do in marriages, relationships and in some cases, as parents.

It’s easy when everything is running smoothly but no one wants to stick around when it’s hard. According to Rhoda Sevage a business blogger “90% of the time people point fingers and go to the boss and complain about co-workers. Unfortunately, these kinds of people are rewarded”.

Bringing the “right” people together doesn’t automatically result in success. Everyone brings their own strengths, weaknesses, personalities and individual nuances. It is on those most challenging of days that our strengths and weaknesses are more visible and our true character and teamwork is tested. A strong and united team is the most important thing and will determine whether or not we succeed or fail–together.

TEAMS are built strong by three things: 1. Strong leaders.
2. People who are willing to fulfill their roles.
3. Team is willing to take care of problems internally (R, Sevage, 2012)

So, how can you find ways to get along and create a successful team you may ask? The answer is simple; trust and respect are two essential elements for building relationships in the workplace and beyond. It’s all about the relationships you have with people – which doesn’t necessarily mean friendships. Relationships are built over time, when one person has respect for another. Gradually, trust begins to build, too.

You don’t have to be a close personal friend with everyone at work, but you do always need to show each person respect and professionalism. So, when you are in your work environment remember your contribution as an individual has a major impact on the success of your team.
